Art deco elegance
Hotel SPA Dr Irena Eris in Polanica-Zdrój
This style will never go out of fashion—it’s a guarantee of the highest quality and timeless aesthetics. That is why the Dr Irena Eris SPA Hotel in Polanica-Zdrój, built and decorated in Art Deco style, is so delightful.
Art Deco was born 100 years ago in opposition to the dominant Art Nouveau style at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries and the earlier historicism and eclecticism. It is a style of visual arts and it was best expressed in interior design and furnishing interiors in various objects of artistic craftsmanship or industrial design—furniture, textiles, glassware, ceramics, metal, both utility objects and purely decorative items
Art Deco is making a comeback. It also became an inspiration to give a unique character to the third, youngest SPA Hotel which has operated under the brand name of Dr Irena Eris for five years now. With its simplicity and elegance, it perfectly matches the spa character of Polanica-Zdrój, which had its heyday at the beginning of the 20th century. And thanks to its repeatability and symmetry, it perfectly harmonizes with the SPA concept.
Every room in the hotel, from the lobby, halls, cafes and restaurants to the rooms of this five-star hotel, has a coherent design which enabled to recreate the unique atmosphere of the 1920s. The space is perfectly organized by referring to classics and synthetically approaching forms in an unforced way. Its strength is in its form, natural and original materials, planarity and maintaining geometry, which are so important for maintaining harmony.
Thanks to this, the interiors of the Polanica Hotel give a sense of calm and peace, conducive to relaxation and full rest. At the same time, they create the impression of communion with elegance and luxury. This is due to the details complementing the general space and decor of the rooms. A classic example is the Grand Apartment with furniture in the living area, decorated with drawings of tree grain patterns on the wooden veneer.
The geometry typical for this style can also be found in the fabrics and tiles used in the bathrooms. In this respect, particularly interesting are the top two floors of the hotel, so-called club floors, as well as Art Deco and Decompresja Restaurants. Attention to every detail can also be seen in the interiors of the SPA Center (with a swimming pool, sauna complex, fitness room and gym), as well as in the Skin Care Institute with beauty treatment rooms.
